Vedanta Center of Atlanta

Aims and Purposes of the Vedanta Center

  1. To make opportunities for the study and practice of the art (or science) of attaining Highest Consciousness/God-realization, the core and culmination of the Vedanta philosophy. The primary purpose of The Eternal Quest (Vedanta Center of Atlanta) can also be described as the pursuit of generic spirituality: how to go through the human life cycle in a sane, dignified and holistically-conscious manner, ultimately to transcend it. These opportunities are in the form of counseling, meditation guidance, discourses, classes, discussions, and books for sale.
  2. To Articulate the truths of the Vedanta philosophy, especially as understood, demonstrated and practiced by Sri Ramakrishna, Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda, and to spread these to public forums: colleges, schools, churches, etc., and by publications.
  3. To respect and honor all constructive modes of spiritual pursuit.
  4. To encourage love and worship of God as Mother, seeing the universe as Her child, and reverence for the Earth and Her special manifestation to us; to urge members to engage in public service as another form of worship.
  5. To engage in and encourage interfaith dialogue among adherents of the various faiths.
