SPECIAL EVENTS

Sarada Devi's Birthday celebration
- Holy Mother's Birthday will be observed with the usual worship
and pot luck prasad lunch.

Ramakrishna's Birthday celebration
- The worship will be performed at the Center by Dr. Nagambal
Shah, followed by the usual pot luck prasad lunch.

speaker, Dr. B. Awatramani
- Dr.
Bhagwan Awatramani, a teacher in the tradition of Ramana
Maharshi will be our guest for the evening. Those of you who
have met him on previous occasions know that his visit should
not be missed.
- Sept 30 - Oct 2. Annual Retreat
- Swami Tyagananda, Head of the Ramakrishna Vedanta
Society of Massachussetts, will be our co-leader this year, he
has chosen Sadhana Pancakam, Five Verses on Spiritual
Practice, as his text.
- Friday December 9, 7:30 pm Lecture
by Bo Lozoff
- The Vedanta Center of Atlanta will co-sponsor a lecture by
renowned spiritual teacher and author, Bo Lozoff, at the Atlanta
Community Food Bank Conference Center, 732 Joseph E. Lowery Blvd.
NW, Atlanta, GA 30318 (directions).
Bo is founder and director of the Human Kindness Foundation,
which sponsors the Prison Ashram Project. He is author of numerous
books, including We're All Doing Time, Deep
& Simple: A Spiritual Path for Modern Times, and It's
a Meaningful Life, It Just Takes Practice.

General Meeting
- We will meet (as last year) in the St. Bartholomew's Episcopal
Church parlors, at 1790 La Vista Road NE and lunch will be provided.
Attending this is the one obligation we put upon all local
members! Others too are welcome to join us.
- Sunday December 18, 10:30 am Holy
Mother's Birthday
- Puja begins, as usual at 10:30 a.m. (No chant service). Flower
and food offerings welcome. Prasad pot luck follows.
- Saturday December 24, 7:30 pm Christmas
Eve Service
- This year the service has been moved to 7:30 p.m. instead
of 8. It lasts a little more than an hour and includes a short
worship of Madonna and Child. Offerings may be of sweets, cookies,
nuts -- traditional Christmas fare.
